East Specialist Inclusive Learning Centre

Welcome to East Silc

Welcome to our school.

"The East SILC offers exciting learning opportunities for children aged between 3 – 19 with a range of complex learning difficulties. Some of our pupils are on the autistic spectrum, have complex medical needs or who because of their communication difficulties become anxious and struggle to engage. All are our priority, and through outstanding staff and a thirst to deliver innovative and creative learning, we are proud to say we meet the needs of all our young people, helping them to achieve their maximum potential."

Diane Reynard, Executive Principal, East SILC.

As a specialist setting we actively seek out best practice and innovative teaching from all over the country, bringing in national and international experts in their field to embed new practice, This ensures that your child can access bespoke learning opportunities and thrive.

You will be familiar with some of the teaching approaches we use such as the TEACCH principles, but others may be new to you and include: Sensory integration, Intensive Interaction, Write Dance, Positive play, Lego Therapy and Listening Programme. Our own dedicated Speech and language therapist and new contract with an exceptional Occupational therapy team ensures that the services we receive from the Local Authority are enhanced significantly.

You can learn more about these approaches and their impact on our learners as you work your way through our website.
